This is an example of a post that I have created through the Department of Agricultural Education, Leadership and Communications through Facebook and Instagram.

Meet Kenzie Barta a freshman from Spangle, Washington pursuing a degree in agricultural communications.

Barta's journey in agriculture began early on by growing up in the heart of the industry. From assisting her parents in running a bustling feedlot to various roles at a grain elevator, acting as an assistant to the secretary for her dad's company Ag Enterprise and contributing to the local feed store Basin Feed, she has allowed these diverse roles to deepen her understanding of the industry as well as gain skills in customer service and communications.

Engaged in campus life Barta is a proud member of University of Idaho CFFA, Block and Bridle and Student Idaho Cattle Association .She recently got to attend the Teach Ag Championship run by CFFA and go to the ICA convention with SICA.
Initially considering an agricultural education degree, Barta's path shifted towards a communications degree within the ASCL program. This choice provides her the flexibility to explore three distinct areas of emphasis in agriculture.

Barta said, "I want to be a sales rep long term, so having a degree where I get all three branches, I get to see all of aspects of agriculture and am not confined to one area."
When asked about Barta's favorite part about the department, she highlighted how we have a close-knit community where students and staff seamlessly communicate. She encourages fellow students not to hesitate when seeking guidance or advice, emphasizing the importance of reaching out for support.

Living by her motto "Follow your heart, not the herd" Barta urges others to step out of their comfort zones, try new experiences, meet diverse people, and always ask questions.

Fun facts about Barta are that she used to show cattle and be part of a show string in her region back home. In college she likes to go swing dancing every Wednesday at the Moose Lodge or be active within the activities on campus like ice skating or trying new food places in Moscow.
